The U.S. currently has about 700 megawatts of electricity generating solar panel connected to the network, according to research by firm of consultants, Navigant. This represents less than 1% of total electricity produced in the United States.

Each state controls solar panels in the U.S., both commercial and residential generators are expected to increase to 6,000 megawatts by the year 2015.
