Fruits and vegetables consumed by your parents and grandparents may have been healthier than the stuff you buy at the grocery store today. Again, this proves that eating organic foods it not only good for the planet is better for our bodies too.
In a research TARGET = "_blank"> conducted at the Institute of Biochemistry at the University of Texas, Donald R. Davis uncovered some statistical surprising when one compares the production analyzed in 1950 and similar products tested in 1999 by the USDA. Here are the results:
• Lowering the amount of nutrients: Of the 13 nutrients analyzed, six had fallen during the period of 50 years studied.
• Reduce the amount of minerals: Similarly, if three minerals were examined iron calcium and phosphorus were found to be 9% to 16% lower in 1999 than in 1950.
• Reduce the amount of protein: Virtually all plant-based foods have some protein component, and those grown today are 6% lower on the ladder.
In addition to these declines, production in 1950 was also higher in things like riboflavin and ascorbic acid (a precursor vitamin C) to about 15%!
Studies of this kind have been repeated in other parts of the world, confirming what scientists Americans have found. This can be attributed to several factors, most of them devoted to methods of large farm growing fruit and vegetables.
For example, in an effort to grow food more quickly, the conventional farmers pile on water and fertilizer, but this can interfere with the ability of a plant to take and create vitamins and minerals. It also reduces the nutrient available to plants, which reduces the nutritional value of the food density.
In contrast, organic farming does not use these products chemical-intensive, but organic matter to stimulate the growing capacity of soils. By cultivating biologically alive soil where micro-organisms can grow, organic farming helps plants absorb nutrients, which are then infused into our products.
Our body needs certain vitamins, minerals and other nutrients to fight infection, maintain healthy bones and muscles, and mental and emotional well-being. So if you want to prevent disease and experience real vitality that allows you to enjoy being active longer, choose foods target = "_blank"> organic.
