That sucks that your family have allergic reactions to cats, hope you are able to get a pet cat, maybe rescue one from a shelter!?

That’s fair enough, I hear what you’re saying, I think well run zoos with large enclosures and a great enrichment program are great for inspiring children and helping to educate them. The message to the public should be that large exotic cats should never be kept as “pets” though the animals are always the ones that suffer!

not if the message to the public is that all exotics should NEVER be kept as personal pets! i think the best way to inspire future vets and animal activists is by up close interaction with animals, more than just what schools, books and t.v can teach young children today. maybe you were lucky enough to be inspired by seeing an exotic animal free in its natural environment. but most people will never get that chance. i think inspiring and educating children today is the most important thing!!

Personally, I hate seeing animals kept in cages, no matter what size. Taking large exotic animals to schools, is dangerous for one thing and sends out the wrong message regards keeping these animals as “pets”

what about the cats that are used for educational shows at schools and summer camps. there captive raised and housed to help educate and raise awareness to the public. i have been told by some that having them in a cage is just wrong. but i think its ok in the right circumstance.

BigCatRescue, you must absolutely address the lies in the youtube video “pets in peril politicians gone wild H.R. 669.
Snakebytes, the video poster, is telling the public that they are going to lose their pet birds, gerbils, hamsters and ferrets!
Please, Scott, make a video explaining why BigCatRescue supports H.R. 669.
The breeders and dealers of exotics have a huge following, we must reach out to our supporters.
Thanks for all you do for the cats!

It’s sad and wrong for people to treat animals with so little respect. These are wild animals;and are not pets!
Having one of these animals is wrong;wrong;wrong. People are so uneducated and naive about these beautiful animals;it’s obscene.Wrong to breed these animals and sell them as pets.Reptiles suffer too.Good luck.

Eliminate exotic animals as “pets”… Animals value should not be measured by their ability to generate “profits”. These animals are here because of greed and stupidity. The least we can do now, is provide the best laws that protect their sadly neglected interests.
