In this 4 part series we’ll be profiling each destination. Remember that by staying close to home, you’ll be able to save money on gas while lowering your carbon footprint.

Overview

Enjoying a nice vacation does not have to be expensive, nor does it have to involve traveling vast distances on an airplane. It can be something economical and within just a couple hours’ drive.

Taking a holiday should be all about a nice mix of relaxation, celebration, adventure, peace, and serenity. You can experience it all with this suggested itinerary.

Channel Islands National Park, Ventura, and Santa Barbara are surely destinations that take you away from the ordinary. And, it all starts with only a 70 mile drive from Los Angeles International Airport!

Transportation

The great thing about these destinations, if you are a Southern California resident, is that you don’t have to book flights and pay airfare to enjoy a phenomenal vacation! Or, if you are flying into the area from major Southwestern US hubs, you can find cheap airfare into LAX from Southwest Airlines or US Airways.

You can also save money and fuel by renting a hybrid vehicle from Fox Rental Cars. Just visit Expedia, search for cars at LAX airport, and select Fox Rental Cars under “Rental Car Company”. The hybrid cars are listed under “Midsize Special” under the results returned when you search with dates for Fox Rental Cars.
