Juara Turtle Project Tioman Island Malaysia – Video

From the Juara Turtle Project

This is a promotional video made by two volunteers during 2009 nesting season. Juara Turtle Project (JTP) works to protect Green and Hawksbill Sea Turtles and their marine environment around Tioman Island, Malaysia. We believe that conservation really is a way of life or thinking. JTP relies totally on volunteers both physically and finacially to run the project. Volunteers are encouraged to get as involved as they want, and we try to use each individuals’ skills to further the project. JTP runs open ended year round volunteer programs in sea turtle conservation and sustainable living. JTP is working to make the project finacially sustainable through true ecotourism!

My Favorite New Find: The WebEcoist with Stunning Photos and Extraordinary Appeal

A few weeks ago I stumbled across an awesome blog that I’ve quickly become addicted to. The WebEcoist is a blog that does an outstanding job showcasing the beauty of our planet.

Many posts highlight a certain phenomenon about the world and showcases that beauty with stunning photographs and fun facts.

What I find so striking about the blog is the sheer simplicity of the concept: show people how incredibly beautiful nature is and they will want to protect it. It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, “people want to save what they love.”

Here are some of my favorite posts so far on the WebEcoist…

52 Epic Natural Wonders of the World

7 Phenomenal Wonders of the Natural World

70 Extremely Exotic Plants, Flowers, Forests and Trees

74 Most Exotic and Amazing Animal Species

20 Bad Green Ideas and Failed Eco-Innovations

And there’s so many more posts that I know that you’ll love that I just can’t list them all here.  You’ll just have to visit the WebEcoist yourself.

All the best,

Gina
