Okefenokee Ranger Burkhart Retiring
FOLKSTON, Ga. (AP) – Jim Burkhart is about to retire after 31 years as refuge ranger at Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. The 64-year-old Burkhart, was hired as the supervisory visitor services specialist in 1978 after a year as an outdoor recreation planner for the U.S. Reclamation Office in Montana.
