I’ve been discussing money quite a lot with my fiance lately. These talks have definitely come up due to the economic mess we find ourselves in today.
But we’re not having the same conversations that most people are having right now. We’re not talking about investments, or real estate, or retirement, or the stock market.
No, we’re discussing the fundamental philosophies behind money, how it rules our lives in every way, and how the greed for it ruins our ecosystems.
We’re trying to dig deeper and have the really tough conversations.
So I thought I’d share some of them with you.
My fiance, Jason, is writing a series on these issues over the next few weeks and posting them to his blog, Money Theory.
Here’s a list of the articles in his series…
- Money, in essence, is not natural
- It’s all about the balance
- Interdependence
- Making the most out of what is available
- A locally-sourced economy can create jobs and independence
- Conservation is automatic, efficiency abounds, wastefulness is non-existent
I’m currently working on a piece called “Why is it OK to work our lives away?”
So please check back for more in the very near future and please feel free to join the conversation with us by commenting below or on Jason’s blog.
What are your thoughts on these issues?
Do you ever wish that society had never invented money?
